The Q&A after the film with film subjects Kamilah Willingham (Harvard) and Sofie Karasek (Berkeley) via Skype was informative and empowering. A special thank you to University of Missouri journalism professor Katherine Reed for facilitating the Q&A with panelists Colleen Coble, director of Missouri Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence, and Danica Wolf of the Relationship & Sexual Violence Prevention (RSVP) Center at the University of Missouri.<\/p>\n

Sofie Karasek is an undergraduate student studying Political Economy at the University of California, Berkeley with a minor in Public Policy. After she was sexually assaulted as a college freshman, she filed a federal complaint with the Department of Education against the University of California, Berkeley with 8 other survivors. Prior to working against sexual violence at Berkeley, she led the first door-to-door voter registration drive in Berkeley\u2019s residence halls, fundraised for a recycling campaign in Massachusetts, and organized communications outreach for Cal students working to pass a higher education ballot initiative. http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/sofie-karasek\/<\/a><\/p>\n

Kamilah Willingham finished her law degree at Harvard and<\/span> is a Program Associate at Just Detention International<\/a>. She provides support to the domestic program and survivor outreach teams. Before joining JDI, she worked as an advocate and as a student attorney for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault through Harvard Law School\u2019s Family Law and Gender Violence clinics. She has also worked as a teaching fellow at Harvard University\u2019s Department of Sociology, and has conducted\u00a0research on human rights, social justice, and gender equality.
